There’s a city for intelligent aphids on my thumb. They build their own shelters, grow tiny plants and feed on the sap. They meet and greet one another. They fall in love and look after their eggs and larvae with great care. Ants come from outside to harvest the nectar from the aphids. All this happens on my thumbnail. I must keep very still. This is easy to do. I’ve been lying in this spot for five years. Maybe one day I will be found.
